KIIS offers ONE $500 Scholarship for each Summer program [Note: *Summer Ecuador applicants: In addition to the $500 KIIS scholarship (details below), Kentucky-Ecuador Partners (KEP) has generously offered to provide an additional $500 scholarship to a KIIS Ecuador program student. To apply for the KEP $500 scholarship.] Eligibility Requirements: - Currently enrolled at a college or university that is a full member of the KIIS consortium.
- Have accrued 30 semester hours of college credit by the end of the Spring semester preceding your KIIS Summer program.
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA (overall) and at least a 3.5 GPA in your major or intended major.
- Demonstrate financial need in one of two ways:
If receiving financial aid, have a financial aid advisor at your college or university complete the financial aid statement . If not receiving aid, prepare a personal statement explaining your need for financial assistance to study abroad. - Have a COMPLETE study abroad program application submitted to KIIS by the February15 program deadline
What You Need to Submit: - A completed scholarship application form
- A 200-word essay on why you would like to study abroad
- One recommendation from a faculty member in the student's major. This is in addition to the faculty recommendation requested for the regular KIIS program application.
- Either a copy of the Financial Aid Statement OR, if not receiving financial aid, a personal statement explaining your need for financial assistance to study abroad.
Deadline: Submit all the above documentation to your KIIS Campus Representative no later than March 1 (or the following business day if March 1 falls on a weekend or holiday).
